Goodbye Max!

One of our students is moving away to the countryside so we had a party for him to say goodbye. He's excited to be moving to the country because he loves farm animals so we made him a cake with a cow on. We will all miss you Max! Please keep in touch.

Our Vegetable Patch

This week we went to our veggie patch with room 2 to plant some carrots, brussel sprouts and cauliflower. First we dug a trench for the carrot seeds. The seeds were in a paper ribbon so we put it in the trench and then covered them up. Next some people dug holes for the brussel sprouts and cauliflower plants and put them in and covered the bottom of them. At the end we put a bird net over our veggie patch so the birds don't eat our seeds or delicious vegetables.

Working and playing hard

Today we wrote about the animals that we have been studying from the Savannah.  We used the smart board to find the right words or letters to match the sentence'.  The smart board only says our sentence when we press the full stop.

Later on we had 'Developmental' and we played with our new purple kinetic sand, built with Lego and practiced our fine motor skills linking up a barrel of monkeys. It was really fun! You can build up the sand then it starts to slowly collapse. We loved playing and watching it.

Lions roooooar!

Today we started to learn all about lions as part of our wild animals project. We put different wild animal toys in the right places (sea, land or sky) then looked at the lion toy and pictures. We saw his mane and paws, we think he has big sharp teeth and sharp claws. Rose Anne had a casting of a lion print and some lion mane for us to feel which was really exciting.
